Kazakhstan-Singapore Forum: “New Partnership Frontiers in Science and Higher Education”
PhD. V.S. Rakhimova, Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Modelling of Hydrodynamic and Geoecological Processes at the Institute of Hydrogeology and Geoecology, participated in the Kazakhstan-Singapore Rectors’ Forum titled ” New Partnership Frontiers in Science and Higher Education”. The forum, attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, brought together over 150 representatives from leading universities in both countries, as well as scientists, researchers, industry specialists, and other stakeholders involved in water management, sustainable development, and higher education in Kazakhstan and Singapore.
Within the framework of the session “Sustainable Management of Water Resources,” the report titled ” Sustainable Development of Groundwater: Ensuring Water Security in the Republic of Kazakhstan” was presented. The forum participants were also introduced to a cutting-edge web portal. This portal, featuring an interactive map of the distribution of mineral, thermal, and industrial groundwater in Kazakhstan, allows users to zoom in on specific areas and access detailed information about the groundwater resources. The latest developments of the Institute’s staff in preparing the Atlas of Hydrogeological Maps and the planned projects in hydrogeology and groundwater resource studies were presented.
